Diablo II is expected to be better than the first. After seeing the screenshots, I was impressed. The walls of the levels are actually higher than the character! Also there are more details than ever before.
Here are the latest news from Blizzard (but don't expect to see them all 'cause they are still making it): There are five classes, two fighters, two sorcerers and a hybrid, of which three have been announced by Blizzard. These are the Amazon, Necromancer and the Paladin. Another new thing are weapon skills. These skills are special moves which the character can perform. Also, spells are more specialized now. This means that certain spells can only be used by a single class. For example, If there was a raise dead spell, then only the necromancer can use it.
There are four towns to explore (Diablo only had one). The NPC's are much more lively now. They can even join you for a fight. The NPC's that are making the comeback are Deckard Cain and Wirt. The surroundings also are moving now (ex. Rivers flowing and Birds flying around). The time of the day is also added. This means that you will see the sun set or rise.
Now for the storyline: Diablo was released from his prison. He is now actually free and now he is trying to free his other two brothers, Mephisto and Baal. I still don't know much about this yet since the Blizzard is not telling us all of it.
